• Planet Neverwinter -- Where pseudo-intellectuals xenophobically insult new members. Don't bother going; we already hate you.

• Dragon Coast -- A regular haunt of John Staggs during his NWN1 gaming says - one of the absolute best examples of design, thematic world building and the creation of a gritty feel in a fantasy universe. It also happens to contain a number of utterly stellar DMs and role players. Its forums contain a mixture of source material varieties in terms of creative writing, artwork and general ideas. An utter goldmine for the reason of providing atmosphere and attitude more so than logistics.

• The Fryd -- Gold mine of Anglo-Saxon army structure information.
• Gothic Names -- Names from the Gothic language.
• Historical Maps
• Irish Dictionary Online -- From which 99% of the Imperian language comes.
• Legio XX -- Despite the site location, they aren't LARPers, they're historically reinactors. Which is just weird, not creepy.
• My Armoury -- One of the best online references for arms, armour and mediaeval to renaissance warfare in general.
• Netbook of Herbs -- A godsend in 2e AD&D.
• Roman Army Illustrated
• Shield Patterns -- Good references and inspiration.
• Siege Engine.com -- Guys with too much free time.
