| Whoo. Site's up. - Broken Llama |
| Sexcellent. I'll get to work on finding a scanner, if you want to do a general artwork section or just add it all to the relevant posts as we do 'em - Vanion | | Hmm, dunno. I say we just have images attached to pages that need them and call it at that. However, if we have any just generally, mood specific pictures of anything in general, we can make a special page for them if we get enough. Opinions? - Broken Llama | | Attaching works fine. Once I have a great bulk of pics which don't really apply specifically, we can make a section. I don't yet, so it's really fine. If anyone else wants one, I'm happy - Vanion |
| Once we start advertizing this place, think we can get some people to donate so we can upgrade to a paid site? Get's rid of those damn ads and let's us upload 100x more shit for your viewing pleasure. - Broken Llama | | Yeah, or we can just get Critter to sell his skinny white arse. Either way, this shit looks great. - Vanion | | Definitely. Amazing this is for free. Still, those ads are pretty annoying, especially on the tiny stub threads. - Broken Llama | | Heh, if we can get $50 by the end of the year I'll be most impressed. - Vanion | | Well, next year. I'd be impressed if we could get $50 in a month. - Broken Llama |
| Added a paragraph to the race page - Vanion |
| Notes on the Spell List: A few changes made, Mind Blank being made white, Shadow Conjuration and Evocation moved to black and Heat Metal and Warp Wood added to gray being the most salient ones -Vanion | | Looks good. Fixed our new verision of Magic Missile. You had it still as a level 1 spell in the description. Also added our note that this is just basically a renamed MM - Broken Llama |
| Eh, I don't see why we need to bother with linking to spells that anyone can pull out of their PHB. It's just a waste of space, and it'll majorly clutter up our site. Just to see what it would look like in a bullet list without links to spells that don't need them, I converted Black Magic (don't worry, I can easily convert it back). I'll wait for your opinion on which seems more reasonable. As well, I'll put up a few spells from other sources I have that I think would be a good idea to include in IWCS. - Broken Llama | | Main reason I wanted to link through the site was so we could just have a completely self sufficient document for people to use to run a game. But I get your point. We can simply link spells we've changed. Works for me, since the colour (color now, I guess) advertises that change. It's all been modified. -Vanion | | Well, I understand why you would want to, but quite frankly, you can get all that stuff online for free anyway, so as long as we just link to it, there's no real need. - Broken Llama |
| On "Alternate Rules", I'll eventually type up the crap for the Simian System. I think it would work quite well in the IW, and it gives me a venue to pimp my ideas -Vanion | | Sounds like a cool idea, however we need to wait on putting up optional rules until we actually have the standard rules... This goes with all optional and alternative rules, for the most part. We really need to get this site's skeleton up before we start doing plastic surgery. - Broken Llama | | Yeah. By eventually I mean months down the track. Just felt like forewarning. -Vanion | | Ah, sure. Sounds good. - Broken Llama |
| I'm serious about this being in American Standard English. We have to have a single standard as much as possible for core material, and most of the people who have contributed to IWCS speak American English. Not a huge deal to fix a little typo, but I had to make a new page, copy the Grey Magic page onto it, and delete the Grey one for a Gray one. Somewhat annoying... - Broken Llama | | Righto. I just do most spelling without thinking. I'll try and conform. -Vanion | | Good. Our dominion shall cover the world. - Broken Llama |
| On the weapons page, I like how you categorize it, however, for 56kers, having to load succession of page after page to get something is damn annoying, and even somewhat annoying for us on cable. I'm going to reorganize it into a single, big ol' page with a table of contents to allow for rapid selection of subject headers. Should look a lot cleaner, too. If you're adament against this, just tell me, or change it back. - Broken Llama | | Heh, sorry. The network loads shit damn quickly for me so I never realised -Vanion |
| I renamed Radiance back to Light. This was for two reasons. First, the name isn't any worse in the first place. I don't think we should go around changing names to, basically, synonyms just for the sake of it. We should have a legitimate reason for changing names, like Magic Jar, which just sounds retarded. Secondly, radiance is a Latin word, of which there is no such language in the IWCS. Sure, there's other spell names with Latin names, don't get me wrong, and as well I'm not suggesting we go change those spell names to something Germanic, but I don't particularly see the point in changing something from inappropriate to appropriate which may lead to the confusion of readers. - Broken Llama | | Fair enough. The main reason I wanted a change was to draw a distinction between the White light spell and the Grey one, even though the effect would pretty much remain identical. - Vanion |
| Man, this place is getting along quite nicely. Impressive stuff. Just to let you know, I have been updating the odd thing here and there, trying really hard not to put somthing up that has been outdated without me knowing. BL: how much work have you done on the individual members of the Counsil of 28? I seem to remember you saying you had some material written up, specifically for the demons. Just asking. -DIUM | | Yeah, I like the occasional updates you do. The Dium character works perfectly, as it's just odd ball enough to be appropriate. Anyhow, most of the demons have basically their pathos worked out and where their position in the heirarchy worked out. Honestly, that's about it. Amusingly, Cestiel is the only angel I actually had any additional information on, which I put up on the page you made for him. Other than that, feel free to make up anything you want about them or whatnot. For instance I made up an extract from a longer, non-existant poem for a couple of the demons so far. Anyhow, I'll put up all the demon kings, princes, earls, and counts for you. Otherwise, don't worry about it. If you put up something that's outdated, a) I can easily change it, or b) more likely I'll just modify my information to fit with what you put up. - Broken Llama | | Come to think of it, I've basically put everything up that has express detail. There's no information you have on the 28 that isn't accurate, so if you want, you can slap whatever you want up. - Broken Llama |
| Updated the mundane weapon materials table. As to why the numbers are in parentheses rather than done in point style, apparently the wiki has trouble mixing up bullet points and number points on the same page, so it wasn't autoformatted when I tried it. Anyway, if you want to break it up more to make it more digestible or simply keep it as a table on teh weapons page, the information is there. I think it's quite balanced - gold is useless, and everything else is clearly inferior to steel (and usually to plain old iron) but at least has some kind of benefit to it. Working on armor materials and thinking up some more unusual weapon materials. -Vanion | | Ye gods, that weapons table is sloppy. I'm guessing you just didn't have time to fix it up yet? I'll just leave you to finishing it up whenever. - Broken Llama | | I started cleaning it up. I left unfinished data as question marks for Vanion to clean up. Will be done soon. -DIUM | | pbwiki refused to load for me from about 5pm -12pm yesterday (about 11pm - 6am I'wuh time). A HUGE thankyou for the help, DIUM. I know how much of a pain in the arse it is to reformat crappy stuff into tables. -Vanion | | I changed the name of the "Grosse" sword to the "Goodfather" sword (goodfather in lieu of the term Godfather since I don't know how that term would work in the IW), basically to give it a name that was mundane, somewhat humorous and a little believable. Why it's called a goodfather sword I don't know and don't bother trying to explain. -Vanion | | Works fine. Never understood why it was grosse in the first place. IWCS doesn't have High German as an optional language. - Broken Llama |
| Weapons table done. -Vanion | | You had a lot of the ranges switched around with the critical multipliers. I fix. -DIUM | | Throwing axes have no range listed in the ax sections but does in the thrown weapons section. Also, I personally think the chakram is just too powerful, given they take up no space, cost virtually nothing, and weigh nothing, yet have longer range and equal damage to a throwing ax. I think we should increase ax damage or decrease quoit damage. - Broken Llama | | Finally had time to fully look through it. What's the difference between a sword and a blade, exactly? Some of the choices seem somewhat random. Also, I don't really care the for the grouping "bludgeons." Besides the fact that they're not really all blugeoning, it excludes very similar weapons in principal. If you can swing a mace, you can swing a hammer, a pick, or an ax just as well, and the latter two aren't in the same grouping, in fact picks aren't even grouped and they're basically the same thing as a war hammer. Also, why is a halbred reach? They're not that long. It should have disarm instead. As well, didn't we originally also have a readied category, for weapons that can be readied to deal extra damage against horseback/charging enemies? Also, why is the quarterstaff not a polearm, if a halbred or trident, which are no longer, are? And what happend to regular spears/javelins/etc? The guisame also has no weight listed. All-in-all, lots of flaws, but it's still a great chart. Having this thing alone sets us head and shoulders above the other online campagin settings I've seen. As well, those bows are absolutely wonderful, you've really outdone yourself this time. Way, way better than "longbow" and "shortbow" by far. Absolute perfection. Oh, and also, let's avoid phrasing such as "Basically it's a big fucking skewer" - Broken Llama |
Heh, i teh suk. I really need to do this shit while not studying or viewing pr0n. I'll set to the addendum. A few points:
- Main difference between a blade and a sword was that the weapons in the blade category weren't quite swords for one reason or another. The scramasax is just a big knife without any of the distal taper you see in mediaeval western blades, the kukri is essentially a forward weighted machete, which is shorter and heavier than a falcata by a good margin. While you can maneuver a falcata quite well (as it was designed for military use against other swordsman), the kukri really doesn't do much more than chop, since it was a utility tool as much as a weapon, used to hack at branches to clear a path or chop up your meat, and even used by the Ghurka to open bottles in WW2 (with the little indentation at the base of the blade called "Vishnu's Trident", I believe. I know it's a hindu god's trident).
- The naginata's not quite a sword, not quite a polearm, not quite anything. You could fit it into any of those categories without too much problem, so I put it in blades while I was thinking and forgot to reassign it. Renaming and using in a different category is all good, if we include it at all. I simply had it there as an option, so input is more than welcome. Scythes I have NO IDEA how to work in. An exotic proficiency: farmer doesn't seem all that inspiring. Seriously, I just don't know and am taking suggestions.
- A kopis is just an articulated scythe. It's not quite sword like enough to be a sword, IMO, but meh.
- "Bludgeons" were named as such because I didn't know what to use and needed a label to suffice in the meantime. I suppose "hatchet" could work if you take function into account, but that causes some confusion with axes. If you want to move them all under one proficiency heading, that's absolutely fine with me. And if you can come up with good nomenclature for "weapons that have weighted heads but are not axes" I'll be all too happy to use it. You're right, bludgeons is a crappy name, but my vocabulary has been rumbled in this case. I'll move picks into the proficiency heading in the meantime and move quarterstaves to polearms.
- Halberd was a fuck up. Nothing else to say. Chakram too. I was either on something or 2d6 is a typo. I'm thinking typo. 2d3 it is from now.
- I thought I did include the regular spears and javelins? Aren't they on the PNWW table? Fuck. I'd swear I did them at some point. Either I misclicked when I did the copy and paste from PNW or they were lost when the network started fucking with me and I lost a shitload of saves. I'll add them. Thanks for the reminder.
-Vanion
Current fixes:
- Spears, half spears and javelin melee stats added.
- "Brace" weapons added - ready this kind of weapon (spears mostly) against a charge, and you get an attack of opportunity that is +2 to hit and deals double damage. This is a one off thing - once the melee is joined, you get no more bonuses.
- Axe ranges be fixed. Chakram now 2d3 damage, 1 lb each.
- Heh, the fucking skewer comment was all PNWW. Forgot I'd even wrote that. Thanks for pre-fixing it for me.
- Halberds fixed, picks moved to "bludgeons", quarterstaves moved to "polearms".
- Guisarme is now 9 lbs.
| Anyway, keep the comments coming. They've seen to it that the table just keeps on getting better. I've also cleaned up the Alternate Weapon Materials table. It should be more digestible now. -Vanion | | Heh, Mozilla crashed 10 seconds after I edited all that. U t3h loz4r 2day, int0rn3t. -Vanion | | Alrighty. I'd move scythes to polearms, as that's more or less what they are. Naginatas I'd also call a polearm, though they really are basically a giant sword. It really depends. I don't know enough of their construction to be sure, but if they have tangs, they be swords, if not really, then no. For bludgeons, I'd almost say something like "Clubs" would do, though that would throw off people. Maybe something like "Hand Weapons" or "Weighted Hand Weapons" would work? I don't know either. Also, what are all the weapon proficiency groups? I'm a little thrown off without really knowing that one either. Also, the idea of a weapons description thread is very good. If you want, I can draw up various sketches of each weapon. If you can too, that would be great, so we have plenty of different pictures of different types of ways a single weapon could look. Also, I gave two handed throwing axes P. A giant ax flying at you is going to hack through armor. - Broken Llama | | Good stuff. I'd say polearm for naginata since it really isn't wielded like a sword, and not all were made with tangs, some were socketed. That, and it tends to share the same purpose as polearms, being used by infantry against cavalry in particular - the main reason for shift away from its use as a battlefield weapon was that it required a lot of space to swing. It was equally effective from horseback or afoot, so long as the wielder was accorded room (It was used by Sohei warrior monks and by women as a household weapon after it lost its value on the field). It doesn't quite fit into either, but polearm fits it a little more. I understand your point about a tang being a good way of defining a sword, but there's also the weight and balance to consider. Even katana techniques and balance simply don't translate to someone trained in western blades. The lack of distal taper (the kind you see when viewing the blade edge on) means that the weight distribution just doesn't come close to matching a western sword's. With a significant haft, I'd definitely see the naginata falling into the kind of techniques used by a polearm wielder. -Vanion | | Oh yes, it's a horribly crude, poor, and all around not a great way of categorizing, it it's about the best as can be done. What's your opinion on my other comments? Is silence to be taken as golden? - Broken Llama | | Alright, worked out what we can do with the nakinata. First off, let's rename it "Polesword", as that's what it is and it's not Japanese. Secondly, let's make it so anyone who can use swords can use it and anyone who can use polearms can use it. This makes it a little more versitile. Sound decent? - Broken Llama |
| Added a ton of new spells from Tome and Blood, interestingly they were mostly white and some gray and a few black. We seriously need to be getting in some more white spells, so if you can, always keep an eye out for them. I've got 3 more books that have spells in them (Relics and Rituals, which is entirely a spell book, Oriental Adventures, which is probably going to offer little, and African Adventures, which may very well surprise me in some interesting things I'd like to add in. If you have any books or websites at all with good white spells, PUT THEM UP! Especially high level spells. We currently have 4 level 9 spells. That's just stupid. - Broken Llama |
| No one's really been updating much lately, so to keep this thing alive I slamed up all my stuff on the Donnerclere so far. Enjoy the sheer, staggering size. - Broken Llama | | Got bored so I threw up armors too. Still needs different materials info, as well as shield weights, but it mostly took care of itself right off. - Broken Llama | | Yeah, assume that silence from me equals compliance/agreement. I could say why I agree and such every time, but meh, why take up more space when we're already archiving comments five days into this? For the most part, if I haven't updated it's because exams, packing and stuff have taken hold of my time. It will be done. Poleswords have been changed. As for club names, well, it's one way of doing things, but it still doesn't cover the picks and such. Your call. Working on armour and agree with the 2 handed axe change. Proficiency groups are something I'm not entirely sure on. We could use each and every group as a proficiency i.e Small X, Medium X and Large X each being a proficiency, or just make the X a proficiency regardless of size. Your call. |
| Put up ready mades for overview descriptions of the Broken Lands and Desolations, and you could easily do so for any of the other regions. You'd basically have to be retarded not to be able to figure this one out, so put up some information. - Broken Llama |
| Started Orcs, edited spelling "prestege" to "prestige" for PrC pages. Will continue when I can see the screen rather than a blur. -Vanion |
| You mention Berlin a lot in the Brensa page. Intentional? I doubt it, but just making sure. Also, is this "Thing" an actual term? Because if it is, that is awesome. -DIUM | | I tried to start putting the location page up, but I had to get off the computer. OH WELL. -DIUM | | Did I say Berlin? The names are so similar my puny mind must have snapped. I'll fix it all up. Thing is the Sehlandic English word for Senate. It's actually an old Anglo-Saxon word for a meeting of people to hold council, so I took it and went with it. "The Thing of the City" cracks me up each time, though. Anyway, I like the way you set up the locations page. I wasn't really sure how I'd put it together, but this works nicely. - Broken Llama | | I've decided to break up the locations page, as it's simply too large to cope with this many locations. Each regional section will now contain it's own breakdown of locations, as warented. - Broken Llama |
| Orcic race and subrace page is done. Comments and critique appreciated -Vanion | | My only comment is proof read your stuff before you put it up. Tons of spelling errors, some simply errors some simply British English (is chattel how you guys really spell it?). As well, you use lots of idioms and the like. When writing these things, you have to be absolutely unbias and straight forwards about these things, like you're writing an encyclopedia. Also, those stats are insanely unbalanced to all degrees of unbalancedness, save one of them, the one with the -2 dex. You can NEVER, EVER let someone have +2 STR for -2 CHA. EVER. The lack of balance is utterly mind blowing. I don't precisely have the time to fix it up, so I'll let you plow through it. Also, Steppelands is a proper noun. - Broken Llama | | Righto. I'll go to work on editing | | And quite the edit it is. - Broken Llama | | Got tired of staring at that orc page, so I cleaned it up so it follows the standards of the Dwarf page, though I haven't actually edited the content of the descriptions themselves. I'll let you modify them as how you see it fit, considering as how you know more about them than I. - Broken Llama | | Alright, I caved in while rearranging the page and edited out some of the most glaringly horrible typos and redid the stats for orcs to be balanced. You should probably reread the PHB sometime, orcs already get darkvision... Anyhow, if you don't like these stats, fiddle around with them. They're balanced out, however, so don't make them any stronger or weaker than as is. While I appreciate your rationale for why a group of orcs would have a -2 DEX pen, it really just doesn't cut it. Physical strength developed during someone's lifetime isn't genetic. If it were the case, all PCs who are born from farmers, workers, warriors, etc. would demand a bonus +2 to strength, just because. I also renamed them minorly. Nomad orc just sounds like a toddler putting together words to me, so I changed it to nomadic orc, as you typically use an adjective to describe things, not a noun (have I said this before? I'm getting deja vu here). Also, farm orc is basically the same problem here, so I modified it to rural orc. I guess it could be farming orc, if you really want. Hardly matters to me, these changes I made weren't me issuing some kind of official canon, just me temporarily correcting a really annoying grammatical nonsense. Also, if you don't like the Orcic names for nomad orc, urban orc, and rural orc, feel free to change them. Just make sure you spell everything consistently, unlike your alternating Gladush and Glasuduch... - Broken Llama | | insert tumbleweed - Broken Llama | | Been looking after my sister for the past couple of days since she managed to break her right arm. Thanks for the help...I'll get online and work on stuff when I can -Vanion | | It's fine. Just like to hear the distant sounds of another living person from time to time. - Broken Llama |
| Well, had to get a new harddrive after my old one died on me (250GB from 40GB is an absolutely huge step up, of which I'll never be able to possibly fill), so exempting materials that we have on the PNWW thread, we've got everything up that will be up that I've already done. In other words, from this point on it's all creation, not cutting and pasting. - Broken Llama |
| Good coverage of an intro to the IWCS. I was wondering how I was going to handle it. Hopefully you'll finish that one up and I won't need to. Heh, anyway, as soon as this paper for some class that's due tomorrow is done, I'll start transplanting some massive amounts of information onto the wiki. I also invited Melon Head to come have a look at it for feedback. - Broken Llama |
| Very impressive job on how to DM a game in the IWCS. I truly am anxious to see you finish that one up. - Broken Llama |
| Started a little bit, but I just really don't have the time or energy in me. I'll wait until exam week is over before I attempt working, so that I don't start churning half-assed material. Next friday or saturday or so. - Broken Llama |
| Said I don't feel all that much like working, but I'll take that back. Don't feel all that much like being creative. I need something to kill my idle time. So I made a little sounding board page, divided up into things we'd like to sound off against each other. I figure this will be a great way of making sense out of our ideas. - Broken Llama |
| Comment on the weapon table. Do multi-headed flails have damage reduction from armor bonuses apply to both dice rolls, or is it the lump sum? If it's the lump, then they're reasonably unbalanced. - Broken Llama |
| Deleted all the other demons that I lost all my info on, as there's obviously no way to gain any of that back. They're now all fully open to change and invention. What you see listed is all I know. - Broken Llama |
| Massive update that needs feedback from all pretty now-ish. Read. - Broken Llama |
| Added aasimar and tieflings to the character racial options. Not sure how I could have forgotten those. Obviously, aasimar are rare beyond belief, but they do exist. Tieflings are disturbingly more frequent than would be normally guessed in the Middle Kingdoms. Hopefully one of us will feel like writing something up on them? - Broken Llama |
| I discovered a magic casting method so brilliant called "Incantations" that I've decided that there's no point in even asking anyone if they like this idea, as it's so fucking awesome. Just letting you know. I'll put up the details tomorrow-ish, when I'm not really tired. - BL |
| Was looking at some new stuff that pbwiki features, and notice you can link to random pages. Check out the sidebar. Pretty nifty, eh? However, it displays the page name, not the title. A lot of the page names, to save time, are acronyms. Thus, I'm going to go through all the acronymed pages and rename them to something that makes sense. I've obviously started on the magic items, various regions, and some other pages. I expect to finish up tomorrow afternoon. Anyone who wants to help please do, just remember that it's less work for me to have to do. If you don't want to, at least take note, while you're playing your games and having your fun that I'm here toiling away and enjoying a sense of righteousness. - BL | | Which I did, all alone and by myself... - BL |
| Total rework of the history. Nothing used prior is still accurate, with the exception of modern times. This means some of the nations, various other timelines, and the like. - BL |
| Started up some notes on roleplaying through combat. Will continue when time permits. | | Isn't a huge deal, but on almost every thread you make, you either put the toc above the title, or don't add the page title. What's up with that? Also, and this isn't very important either, if you're going to put accent marks on "melee", at least put them on properly... - BL | | Haw. I forgot about the circumflex. Sweet | | Actually, you had the accent mark where the circumflex goes. Common mistake. - BL |
| Alright, I'm having exams (just like every other student in the world) but that isn't really an excuse. I do nothing. I feel useless. And I know that I could just stop contributing, and neither of you would notice, but I want to do something. So if you (BL) could send me and images you want photoshoped, optimized, or whatever I WILL do that. Not because I feel I am terribly good at that, but because I probably can't mess that job up. -DIUM | | Heh, sure. Don't think I forgot about that, I just had a sudden shift in my priorities. I have a psych final tomorrow, and a history one on friday, but I obviously don't need to study for that one. So, sometime tomorrow (after around noon my time or so) I'll see if I can't get up some pictures. If you're up to it, what I really want done are maps. I have dozens of line and contour maps, several political maps, and various regional ethnicity, religion, etc. maps. What I really want now, however, is a nice, big overall world map with fancy looking mountain contours, shadings, colorations, etc. and such forth. If you're up to it, I'm really psyched, as I'm just dying to get a really nice world map. I don't want anything political shown on it (like cities, national borders, etc.) because, quite frankly, most of them haven't been made. However, what won't be changing is the world's over all look. If you could do something of this caliber, I'd be thrilled. Let me know if you're up to the challenge, and I'll send you various maps and they can be complied. I understand that this is a big project, so I'm certainly not expecting it to be done in a matter of days, mind you. Just kind of a whenever thing. - Broken Llama | | Alrighty. Scanned up all my maps. I'll warn you, the quality is low, as my scanner is getting old, and it annoyingly cuts off edges from time to time. Nothing I can do about it. I'll make a temporary wiki page with links to all my maps and explainations on them that I'll delete when you're done. Click right here. - Broken Llama | | Alrighty. I'm on it. Keep in mind, though... I expect a new Mac computer with a lot more RAM and screen space and all that jazz to pop up around the house any day now, and so I might unintentionally stall myself until I can work with that. The mountains look like the only forseable problem (mostly just how you want them defined), but I'll ask when I get to that part. -DIUM | | Not a problem at all. The fact that you're willing to do this map just turned around this really, really shitty day for me. Rejoyce in knowing you've made someone happy. Anyhow, here's an oh my God, you call that a map? sort of map with climate. Green is fertile, tan is arid, yellow is desert, and dark green is forest/jungle. Here's one with names. - Broken Llama | | More stuff! If you want an ultra simple job, would you mind fixing up some weapon/armor drawings I made? Mostly just need to be darkend and the backgrounds bleached. Kill all my handwriting, too. It's barely readable, and not really needed. Here's where I'm storing them all. Just upload the completed files onto the wiki. - Broken Llama |
| Switched up the stats for Ringmail and Brigandine in order to make Ring Mail a little more expensive and absorbive at the cost of giving a little less mobility. -Vanion | | Yeah, I was going to do that eventually. Looks like you beat me to it. Darn. - BL |
| Bone's listed as a heavy armor material, not a padded one. This is because you can make scale mail and similar materials out of bone, whereas you can't out of quilted armor. Also, very good armor description page. Great start. I added a little bit of added detail to it, particularly to the quilted armor footnotes. - BL |
| AAARG. I spend a good long time on that map, and, confusing it with one of her files from school, my sister deleted it. What she is doing deleting old files is beyond me (I tell her, we have space! Just keep it!) but the fact of the matter is that I am now incredibly discouraged as far as the map goes. It'll get done, just... well, I don't know when exactly. Damn. I'll probably get the other pictures started instead, as they shouldn't take more than a few days. -DIUM | | Yeah, I know the feeling. So long as it's done one day, it's no big deal. It's always hard having to repeat something you already did. - BL |
| Added a regional heading for the music page. Be amazed I know so many Irish folk songs, despite not having any Irish ancestry. - BL |
| Sorry about the lack of updating. Had a boozy weekend and got a job on Monday. I'll post frequently once I don't need much sleep for work, and on weekends of course. | | Yeah, figured. I'm going to slow down production of the wiki until around the end of the month or so. I'll only really update every once or twice a week. This is merely until we have time to really get back into the swing again. - BL |
| Finally, we need to decide a group "company" name for this thing. We need to copyrite it, and it's not fair to copyright it in my name as it's not all 100% mine (or someone elses name, but this project is at least 51% me, so really now). So what do you guys think? Something throw back to PNW, like VJL Studios, I say. - BL | | How about "The Ragnarockers". Haw. No, personally I don't mind VJL, though anything PNW related works. - Vanion | | Sounds like an 80s soft-core band. - BL | | "Jake Smith Inc" has a nice ring to it - Vanion | | Still can't really think of anything good. - BL | | I'm using the placeholder "PSGP (Post-Staggs Gaming Press)" until we can think of something. Hopefully we'll think of something incredibly alarming and enraging all at once. Hey, we might even be the first company to have "Fuck" in the title somewhere. Got to have big dreams. - BL | | Anyone remember PGF from PNW around 2-3 years ago? The Powergaming Faggots. Heh, that's potentially a good name. - BL |
| Updated the look of the frontpage. It was just getting too bulky. I remembered you can use html, so I just made some tables. Sadly, I haven't used html in years, so what you see is about all I know how to do. I don't really like the coloration, but meh. Anyway, I added an unprecidented amount of content today as well, including two new regions to the world, mostly full character creation documentation, added a few new races, classes and all class like abilities completed, finalized the spellcasting class, created several new major religious aspects, finished adding more feats and PrCs, retouched the OGL and documentation, made a new map, and introduced several new horror concepts. - BL |
| Notable Dwarf changes that I'd like feedback on. As well, I began updating descriptions of the Broken Lands and Donnerclere, including herbs and some wilderness encounters. A phrasebook for words in Sehlandic English has also been added. Refer to the language section under the Brensatic League for more details. As well, I moved the counter to the sidebar. This allows for us to track each page's number of hits and thus gauge what is important and what is not via traffic count. - BL |
| Left the Head Page on the site for now, but you can't access it through the main menu. You'll need to go to the view all pages tab at the top and look for it. I left it incase you have any need for it. Feel free to delete it if you don't. - BL |
| There's a potential typo in the historical fantasy section. It seems to imply that it's good to have characters in situations could could potentially, radically change they way history runs. I can't seem to find it when looking back, however. Not sure if you updated this out or not, but I didn't think you did. - BL |
| Lack of updates on my part have been due to exams, play practice, and exaustion. I've mostly just been sitting around watching the Olympics in my free time. Updates should resume in about a week or two time when things start to slow down. - BL |
| I've decided that all Necromancy (Healing) spells need to be moved to a new group. Not because it doesn't make sense, unlike Conjuration (Healing), but because of balance issues. It simply makes no sense to not be a necromancer. Sadly, I can't really think of a great name to choose. With the exception of enchantment, all the other spell schools have Latin names, so I decided to go with another Latin based name to keep congruent. I came up with: Sanimancy, Sanitation, Salation, Salimancy, Salvetation, Curation, Medication, and Medimancy. Sanimancy is a little cheesy sounding, I think, and Sanitation makes me think of janitors. Salation is ok, but Salimancy sounds like salamander. Salvetation isn't bad, but sounds like a cross between saliva and salvation. Curation is ok I guess. Medimancy and Medication are just cheesy, despite being perfectly legitimate Latin words. I guess you could really stretch the definitions of "healing" and include words like Vigoration/Vigormancy, Valetumancy/Valetudion, Valenation/Valemancy, or Sospition/Sospimancy. - BL |
| Made a ton of new content, but don't have a hooked-up scanner at the moment. It's mostly all Brensatic stuff (big surprise), mostly new soldier plates and the like. I'm going to next start on an archival sketching of all weapons and armor types. Half because I want to, half because the ones presented in the PHB are absolutely horrible, and also because we have quite a few uncommon and unique ones listed. - BL |
| No lack of updates due to being simply incredibly busy, and there's no sign of it slowing down any time soon. Needless to say, I'll certainly resume updating as soon as I start getting more than 6 hours of sleep a day. - BL |
